Tested Alk -7, calcium- 300ppm. May explain some coral issues. Waiting on PH tester and calcium delivery. Currently making Alk using Randy H recipe.

Alk at 7 shouldn't harm anything, calc at 300 will, bring that up to 380 min, i like 420 - 430 as it gives some wiggle room. Don't do it all at once though, bringing it up to 380 should be over a couple of days, do roughly 50ppm per day at most, spread it out.

I had my dkh down to 7 without harming my pH (between 7.8 and 8)

I would bring those numbers up but like mention do it slowly. I aim for the following (not sure if those are good numbers or not but my corals are doing ok)

Cal - 450
Dkh - 10
Mag - 1390

Tank dkh can be anyplace between 7 and 12 and be fine, calcium between 400-450, mag is fine as long as it's over 1200 or whatever sea water is, after my battle with bryopsis my tank has been sitting anywhere from 1600-2100ppm mag.

The reason I asked about what salt mix do you use if cause if you were using Instant Ocean a big water change will bring Alk too high and it will make things worse....As I've told you by text I thing you'll be ok and tha Calcium will only precipitates.

Did you do you calculation based off your numbers before a water change or after? Also how soon after a water change did you test? I prefer to do my testing about 24hours after a water change to let things even out. But if I do it sooner I do no sooner than 10 to 30min after a water change
