Pearl Harbor Day

Today December 7th in 1941 Pearl Harbor an American Naval base in Hawaii was attacked. 2403 American sailors and Marines were killed and 18 ships were sunk or badly damaged forcing the US to go into WW2. We should remember these brave Americans so that their sacrifice is never forgotten.

I had the honor of visiting the memorial last month. The oil still leaks from the hull - which they call the tears of the USS Arizona.

Also visited the Punchbowl - which is second only to Arlington National in terms of size.

They had a lot of these plaques dedicated to our fallen.

Although they gave their lives - the battleship is a reef underneath. I took these from the memorial....I believe that's a moorish idol.

At the museum they had some pretty amazing replicas of the ships involved:

Also took a pic of the active duty fellas who i took the time to thank for their service.

Also a memorial for all the subs who are on "eternal patrol"
