Phosphate Testing - Vodka Dosing

I've been dosing for almost 2 complete weeks so I'm only at 1.5mL....so there isn't much change yet. I'm thinking my maintenance dose, once I get there will be in the 12-15mL range.

Just an update....I'm on day 21. Just dosed 2.5mL for the first time today. I have not seen any changes in my Nitrates or Phosphates. I have noticed though that my glass is not as algae covered every day....I'm up from 2 days to about 4.

I don't forsee a change in the Nitrates until I get closer to 10-15mL....maybe more, since my system is running 200 Gallons. But I guess slow and steady wins the race here!!

That's what happened to me first algae going Then gone.. Then after I got to 1ml per gallon(80 Proof) Nitrates or Phosphates was 0%.. But just remember keep a eye out for Cyano when getting to max dose or close to it

Whew!! That's better LOL I was worried I misread something and was going to have to put an entire bottle of vodka in my tank every day.

So with the cyano...if it pops up, what are the steps to follow? Do you cut back the dosing until it goes away or continue through it?

BTW...What proof vodka are you using?

80 proof...40%. I'm following the recipe from RC and Melev's.

I have a very small section of it in the back of my tank...I'm wondering if some increased flow to the area would get rid of it.

more flow will help.. also I had daylight hitting the part where it was growing..I taped paper to the outside of the glass to stop the sunlight from feeding it
