Placement of elegance coral

Just bought a massive piece of elegance coral from absolutely fish. Where should I place it in the tank , running two ai Vegas. Some people said put it in the sand bed others say higher in the tank?

I always place everything at the bottom to let it adjust to my lights then move it and see how it does

This is by far my favorite coral. I did a ton of research when I first got it and everyone had a different opinion. I would say just watch it carefully and see how it reacts. I kept mine in the sand with medium flow.

The general view is the larger the polyp the farther from the light.

I've been waiting two years to get an elegance and finally seen one I couldn't pass on. 12" across for $225 can't beat that , I'm going to try it in the sandbed , have two mp40w es so water flow won't be an issue

The reason opinions vary on elegance is because they can be collected from both shallow and deep water. Start it low.
