Plumbing a Marineland 60 Gallon Cube

Yes it is a out the back plumbing, very easy to do, do it all in soft tubing, 3/4 hose for the return and 1 inch flex hose right into the sump. It is a 10 min job.

I had intended to hard plumb it with check valves and ten soft plumb down by the sump but I've heard people complain about the return being very noisy so they put a T off the bulkhead to allow air in. Anyone with similar experiences?

Maybe check valve the return but not the overflow, what good is a check valve in the overflow what is it going to do.
