I will say that with the one i've been using, I have to rinse it in RODI water before i put it in, otherwise my skimmer goes crazy.
Do these poly-fil ones require the same rinsing?

Yes and no. The brand The Original Poly Fil is. If buying a different brand read the label carefully. If it’s listed as fire resistant it is not safe.

Never had that happen with the poly Fil brand. That’s what I’ve been using roughly 3 years now with no issue.
