possible to re/move an anemone

I don't remember how the fish store got him in the bag, but he is attached to a piece of live rock now and I want to manually remove him to another spot in the tank.

How is this done? What are the downsides to doing this?

My girlfriend has used a turkey baster to blow water at the base of the anemone. When it starts to get annoyed it will loosen its hold on the rock and you should then be able to move/remove it.

you can put a lot of flow from a powerhead and it will move , if you move it yourself just be careful with the footing that you wont damage it ,she may not like it where you want to put it ,they look for the flow and light that they like and stay there .

I'll give the flow a shot before using the turkey baster. I tried the flow earlier and it moved, but just came back to bother a coral that is attached to my live rock. It seems to be bleaching the coral.

How long would it take for an anemone to kill my non softy coral? I'm thinking to give up fighting him and just allow him to travel to where he wants knowing that once I allow him to get to the coral, he will hang around for a day before moving elsewhere.

Would he cause the coral to go bleach and stay bleach in just a day?

When he touches an SPS, he'll burn the flesh off of it, not really bleach it. Not sure how long it will take, whether that would be a day or if it would take longer. I'd say if you could move the SPS out of the way that would be the best thing to do until he settles. Otherwise you'll have some losses, just not sure of the extent of them. Good luck!

i gave up on the removing them... they always manage to move to the places that I don't want them to go!

last week, i starting to build a wall to block them to touching other corals - while they are retracted at night, i used the proxy-clue and stick some thin rocks to block their way to prevent them to touch others... so far, so good. they are keep moving around, and i am keep blocking... soon or later, one will gave up... hopefully it is the *BTA, not me...!
