power heads questions

How many powerheads would i need for a 72 gallon bowfront tank set up as a reef tank. i hear the koralias are good. What is everyone's take on the amount and kind of powerheads for a 72 gal tank.

I'd say 2- koralia # 3 or 4's

I'm partial to Vortechs, a 1 MP40W would do the trick.

Yeah thats true.... Vortech mp40= 439.00, 2-koralia #4's= 110.00. You could even use 3- maxi 1200's on that wave timer strip. I had it in my 120 it worked great, and cheap too like 65.00!

Not that it's much better but the Mp40 should be in the $360 range if you get in a group buy on various forums.

The next question is what type of coral do you keep or plan to keep? I had 2 K4's on my 75g softy reef and it was to much for them. However, SPS would love that much flow.
