Power Outage

Never thought about it until it happened yesterday- clear sky, no wind. First half hour I was fine- then I started to panic- I have no running generator. called my lfs for a battery powered air pump, none in stock- called Petco- had 3, was about to make the run and power came back on. I immediately bought 2 of these online and will get my generator running asap

Summer isn't bad. Can use frozen water bottles to cool down tank. I have two battery pumps as well.

I have a Generac gp7500e and it runs my whole house (3k sq ft) except for the central air. You'd need a gennie almost twice this size to run central air. I had an electrician install a transfer switch and it's wired right into my panel. This is the current version; Generac 7686 GP8000E - 8000 Watt Electric Start Portable Generator 49-State

I have the larger 20kw model runs the AC, hot tub and a double oven. It has smart packs that don't allow them all to cycle at once, air conditioner is priority but they all can be running at once. It's no joke.

If it isn't one thing it's another. Last year when I first dove back in I had my nano in a room in the house with a concrete floor that always stayed coolish- moved it to my office on the second floor and added a 30g and a 40g- got up this morning and the temps in the tanks were 85. put some frozen water bottles of water ( and other stuff) and installed an air conditioner in the window- room is now 75 and tanks back to 79- fish and corals all seem fine
