Praziquantil use

So I found a Polyclad flatworm in my tank the other night.....bastard is eating my narsis snails. About one per night. I have not seen him at night ( with 2 kids under the age of three I am passed out by 9) sooooooo. I want to know if I can toast it with praziquantel. It's a flatworm so it should be affected. Does anyone have a dose per gallon. Tried to scour the boards but only have some for pond fish ( fresh water) .

You can use Prazipro as per the instructions on the bottle. It is reef safe. If you have any feather dusters or coco worms I would take them out before dosing.

Zippy take the bottle with you to Sunnys house, use it in his tank and if nothing does then you know for sure it is reef safe.

Thats awesome. I have never heard of it killing Flatworms... im guessing not the AFEW variety. Just Flat Worms on the fish themselves. I have a big bottle of the stuff that I paid an Arm and Leg for. I haven't had any issues with fish in a LONG time so I haven't been using it much except as a dip when I get new fish in. I never knew it was reef safe. awesome to know.

We use praziquantil to kill tapeworms and yes flukes. It should do nothing to fish, crabs, shrimp, not sure about bivalves, or snails. Flatworms should be killed as well. I can't see it affecting the corals. Heck, we dip em in Bayer insecticide! I will treat this week and let you know. Sunny, I trust you and have no desire to try and stalk this annoyance at night...nor the time. In this situation chemicals are your friend.

Put the praziquantil in my qt tank. Has mostly softies and Marc algae. It ticked off the pulsing Xenia though. The colt,Kenyan and the few chalice seemed fine. I think it has to do with its pH which is acidic, everyone was fine an hour later. No issues with snails or bristle worm I saw.

Next was my 55 gal reef tank with the Polyclad flatworm. I mixed the recommended amount in a 1 gal container of reef water. Slowly added this mix to the sump intake for the reef tank. The following were ticked. All the pocilopora, birds nest, stylophora immediate polyp retraction. Shrooms and zoas were slower. Acros were unaffected. As of 3 hours later only the Ora green birdsnest has polyp retraction. All others are now out but not exactly like before. Will see how long it takes the green birdsnest to return.

For once I have similar experience. If it is the bright green birdsnest just let it be for a few hours. It will open up. That was the only coral that retracted on me but was fine later. You also need to turn skimmer off if you did not do so already.

Already turned skimmer off prior, yes the only coral u happy is the green birdsnest. No worries but interesting to see who is affected vs not. Thanks again Sunny.
