My reefer has been up for some time now, and it's had some issues regarding brown algae bloom which I have since handled dosing NoPox. However, I just realized recently my Apex thermometer was not fully submerged and was covered in slime and buildup - the reason I realized this is because I bought 2 cheapo thermometers for tank side and sump side and it indicated that my water temperature was 81.5 degrees - this was at the valley of my temperature curve, so my tank was probably reaching as high as 83 degrees. I am wondering if this is why my inverts and corals have ultimately died off. I am not sure that 83 degrees would be warm enough to cause this type of loss tho?
My other parameters are all in check, recent ICP test also confirmed this.
