Protein skimmer problem.

I've had the skimmer running for a week now. When my skimmer was not working, I was doing 50% water changes weekly, just to keep nitrates below 40ppm. With the skimmer operating, I only did a 20% water change, and nitrates are 10 ppm. although the skimate is A little light in color, I'm happy with the results.

Finally got my protein skimmer issue resolved. I tried using a hand me down corallife skimmer for a while. Couldn't get that dialed in. Always skimmed too wet or not at all. Couldn't find the sweet spot. Bought a brand bew Bubble Mangus QQ2 skimmer. It's day 4, and broken in. Working very well. After several months without a effective skimmer, a have some patches of Algea. I hope I can get that under control now.
