Puppy

Well I was able to sell a few pieces of my tank and after losing Rocky my 11.5 year old golden as most of you know and then Lucky (adopted dog) I decided to get another puppy.

I was looking, but had no intentions of buying one really until September/October. I came across a litter of puppies locally that were older dogs (12 weeks) and my mom saw the pictures of them. Well mom knows best so off we went to see them and ended up taking this guy home. The people who had him had the mother, father, and the mother's mom there too! Great people and have been breeding for 4 years now, once a year.

They named him Toby after the Toby Keith the country singer and he is AKC registered and all that jazz.

Well here are some pictures of my new love!

Check out trupanion.com. Great insurance options, and if you start now its really cheap. For ollie and mac we pay about 50 amonth with NO DEDUCTIBLE. They cover alot, almost everything and even cover 1 foreign body surgery (when pup eats something it shouldnt, like shoes or toy helicopters, or water change buckets not like I know from experience lol) Makes huge decisions much easier when cost isnt a factor. Let me know if you need any more info.

Lmao for once Olivier you're bigger than someone :p. I printed your picture and am training him to drool on it.

John,

I was about to ask you about your ins I saw on MR you posted about it too.

Is it really that good? We had one for Rocky for awhile, but I canceled it because he had 2 tumors (1 on left leg & 1 on stomach) non-cancerous. Anyway the vet bill was somewhere around $3,000 to get them removed. The insurance company only covered about $250-$300 of that. We had the procedure done, but after that it left a bad taste in my mouth.

Is there a policy where only certain vets will accept it or something?

Right now my focus is making sure he gets enough exercise and socialization

Steph deals alot with insurances at the clinic. From what she says, trupanion is the best. Theyre quick to payout, they pay immediatley and they use their own card, as opposed to you paying and they pay you back, usually less. Of course, Id call and do your own research, but she does like that company. Check out the website, you can price it out right there.
