rant: Utter hate for NJ Drivers

I have found a new hate in my life.

NJ Drivers

They dont pay attention - usually spot them on their cell phones
they go 60 on the parkway - ON THE FAST LANE
they speed up when your trying to get passed ^see above
they never properly switch lanes - they wait til your close enough to slam on your brakes
they see an approaching car that is going fast (~10mph over speed limit NEVER WRECKLESS) they jump in front of you and go the same speed they were going in the lane over
they take about 10 seconds on the green light before they proceed
the cops don't give (edit) if their slow but they will pull you over just cause your exhaust bothered them eating their donuts.

i take bad drivers as a threat to my life. if they are not competent enough to be in a car then they shouldn't be in a damn car.

i don't condone speeding but i stay within 10mph over speed limit
i don't speed when i know people are present especially in a school area
i hate speaking on my cell cause of the attention distraction
if i actually see someone going faster than me i move over to let them pass
i go on green. not a (edit) that let's the 10 precious seconds of green out of a 20-30second turn signal go by so that the people in back of me have a chance to proceed with their lives.

I HATE PEOPLE IN GENERAL. specifically stupid people and bad drivers.

Edited for language

if it was an option then i would consider it. which i did. but joining back into the military would not serve my family well. i take the losses for my kids to be near family and grow up in a well deserved location.

and you have never driven in delaware have you.. let a drop of rain fall and play bumper cars... NJ is weak.. only place to get passed while doing 80 by someone doing 90 and reading the newspaper

yeah. horrible drivers that are quite wreckless. i used to drive through Delaware often going back from NJ TO VA for 5 years (military) i liked delaware a lot better than jersey or virginia beach/norfolk area. tourist, military, tunnels to get anywhere out of the area would take 1 hour+ during traffic.

I do believe virginia has the worst drivers spent 4 yrs down there with the military(navy) they are the worst. You get people from all over the U.S. some from a town with 5 people in it that dont have traffic lights wait till winter comes and the bennies from up north stop going to A.C. on the weekends it will get better.Where are you stationed at now

You know, for some strange reason, it always seems like it's Maryland drivers that don't have a clue.

I used to drive a taxi during the overnight shift (11pm to 8am). One morning at about 7:00 I get a fair that is going to Manahawkin, which was about a 40 minute drive each way (just what you want to do when you're supposed to be getting off duty in an hour). On my way back, I cruise up to the Exact Change lane at a toll plaza. In front of me is some tool from Maryland at a dead stop. He's just sitting there. About 30 or 40 seconds later, which felt like hours, I start to blair on the horn. The guy puts his car in park, gets out and walks over about 5 or 6 toll booths to get to an attended lane. He waits for an openening and then walks up and hands the guy a dollar. He gets his change, walks back, gets in his car, pays the toll and then puts his car in gear and pulls away. That was the day I learned to REALLY hate Maryland drivers. From then on, I've always noticed that they are awful drivers.

i was stationed on the USS NASSAU.....big nasty. 5 years IT2 got out.

was thinking of re-enlisting but had talk to a few people and realized i left with good intentions (for my family) and i'm going to stay out to keep them where they want to be.

btw, sorry as you can see dirty sailor mouth. sincere apologies to those who may have read my rant with unedited profanity. i do try to watch myself on this family oriented board. slipped unfortunately!

IMO you get used to driving where you were raised and the rest of the planet can't drive.

That said, I would rather be driving in the destruction derby of Paris or London than Jersey some days. Fricken 40 minutes to anywhere.

i guess you can say that. but there has to be some common sense.

if you see green light you....
if you see a faster car you....

well, NJ drivers do the opposite. no thought process

i guess low education system. watching these new kids coming up. i can't believe it was the same school i went too. sloooooooooow. my sons are going into private school.

i was doing recruiting for 2 weeks before i got out the navy and kids would come in to take the "test" and couldn't pass it. i would say it was 9th grade level type of questions. FAIL. it was pretty sad cause some looked like they had nothing else.

sign says "keep right - pass left - its the law" if they would only enforce that one, the deficit may become a surplus. Heading south down 2/3'rds of the Parkway every Friday afternoon, I find NY drivers to be the most ignorant, inconsiderate drivers out of the bunch. If someone's holding up the hammer lane, 8 out of 10 times the car has a NY plate.

ha. true stories dsx4x.

i doubt they would do anything but eat donuts and mess with people living their lives. especially when they need to make their quotas.

i say about 1/4 of the month they actually have something to do. other than that they are pulling people over so they could get paid.

NY drivers are horrible but jersey drivers are right there with them.......i could understand why insurance is so high.

i grew up by the shore in ocean township. i have to say the only time i noticed bad drivers was in the summer when the people would come from NY. other then that, it wasnt bad.

i moved to western NJ near princeton, and this area has the worst drivers i have ever seen. i dont leave my house after 5pm, until at least 7pm because it will take me an hour just to get onto rt 1 (which should be 10 minutes).

since moving here i have a great hatred for driving, but before i was fine. if both my wife's and my jobs werent here, i would leave this area in a second.

As Evo and I know, you go home after work and you stay put until like 7, when theres a chance of making a left out of our lots. NY drivers are bad, surpringly the minivans full of Hasidic Jews are some of the worst drivers!! They used to always be doing like 90-95 on RT 17 up in Ramsey when I worked at Prestige BMW. Its only a 50 also! My biggest pet peeve is unattentive drivers, ones with no common sense. I love how they pack the right lane when youre trying to merge onto the highway, and the left is clear! But will any of them move?! Never, no consideration for anyone else. Another good one that hasnt been mentioned was the ride up on someone and slam the brakes in traffic. If anyone ever thought about leaving a cushion between the car ahead of you, we wouldnt be sitting in this friggin stop and go BS!!!Idiots!!!

Whenever i see a wreckless driver they always seem to have a NY tag. The other idiots that never seem to know where they're going and slow you down have PA tags. I also hate people in general too 8)

I gotta go with Maryland/Virginia. DC area to be exact. Talk about a hodge podge of morons who didn't even HAVE to take a test to get on the road! Only in DC have I seen (multiple times) somone throw it in reverse on the LEFT shoulder, cut across 4 or 5 lanes of high speed traffic to hit an exit they missed the 18 signs for!

But my all time favorite is coming to a complete stop in the center lane, EXITING THE VEHICLE, LEAVING THE DRIVERS DOOR OPEN, and adjusting a strap on a car top carrier. SERIOUSLY???

hi^

no driving test for DC? horrible

jersey has a hard driving test and slim mistakes can be made. but still has horrible drivers. more of the old people or people on cell phones cause such issues. everytime i pass by someone on their cell i have to shout some dirty words. that just irks me. you can't drive and your not paying attention.

that's an utter slap in my face that their willing to risk a possible crash. i don't mind if it's just me in my car but when my kids are in there and your driving wrecklessly. if i get into an accident with my kids in the car i will jump out my car and bash that persons head in.

Oh no, the people born and raised there certainly have to take a driving test. It's the foreign transplants that generally cause the issues. Always seems whenever you see someone do something mouth dropingly stupid, they have diplomatic plates. Like the idiot that stopped in the middle of the highway, and the one that backed up and darted across it.

I got caught in a traffic jam for almost 3 1/2 hours down there once. Finally figured out what it was after 3 1/2 hours of inching and crawling along. Some idiot had, I don't even know what, spun, slid, lost control, dropped his ice cream cone, whatever. But somehow the car was hanging over the guard rail of an overpass. Like something you'd see in the movies...
