Howdy,
I guess it's time to start a new tale of the tank for this beauty - I hope!
I picked this tank up from a local reefer last year, for a very VERY VERY price. It was a premature purchase as I was not ready to setup the larger tank, but I couldn't pass it up. I had to finish my basement before I could set this tank up, I got married on the 30th of December, honeymoon, live etc. Low and behold, my basement... photos will be below, is nearing it's finish. What seemed like a never ending process, countless long nights after work, weekends and any spare second I had devoted to finishing the basement, throw in a new job starting this Tuesday, I figured I would devote some time to the tank.
I have already sold off my first tank IM 30 AIO to Kevin of the club, we are working through turnover of that as I wind down the livestock. I am trying to convince the wife to let me keep the frag tank, for frags of course, but may lose the battle once she sees the cost of the larger parts for this 425. lol.
I plan on having a mixed reef, if I am allowed to keep the frag tank, my zoanthid collection will live in the frag tank with some prized collections in the 425, I want to try my hand in some larger LPS and maybe some sticks. I am mostly excited to enter some larger fish into the picture.
I plan on running Kessil 360's, neptune controller of course (maybe a trident?), quantum nyos skimmer (forget the size) I am debating a filter roller... never liked filter socks, but imagine I will need a larger filtration than just filter cup with floss.
My rock, which came with the lot above, as well as most equipment I am using, was bleached, and is currently curing in a brute with dr. Tims. I will say another 2 weeks and I will be able to move that over to the tank to finish it's curing.
As seen in the photos, the tank is covered in plastic, when the walls are painted it will just move back under the window, my water makeup room and slop sink is directly to the right.
