I went to Aquatic obsession yesterday to pick a bucket of salt. They has Instant Ocean for 50 and Seachem, Reef Crystals and Red Sea Coral Pro at 60.

I picked up Reef Crystals since I had vaguely recollected fellow members praising it. However, the netizens seem to be pretty divided about their choice of salt.

Could you help me pick my salt?
Between Reef Crystal, Red Sea Coral Pro and Seachem which salt would you chose and why ?

i started using red sea but i was having issues keeping my mag up. im not sure if i had a bad batch or what the issue was but since switching to RC it seens to be good, cheaper too. i think this is a personal preference thing as you will get answers on salt choices of every brand.

There are as many opinions of salt as there are members of the forum! Everyone has their own preference and experiences. It's really just a matter of choice. You might have better luck asking for help naming you first born!

That being said, here's my 2c: I've never used Seachem. I tried Red Sea Coral Pro and didn't like it at all. Shortly after I began using it I had a brown algae outbreak in a system that NEVER had an algae problem. Reef Crystals is not bad. My real problem with it is the brown residue it leaves in the mix tank. Otherwise it's pretty good.

BTW, I voted for other: Tropic Marin Pro

I voted for sera. It's not widely available but with normal changes I haven't had to supplement the water at all. (I don't run any reactors)
