Reef Safe SUPER DUPER STRONG Magnets???

Now that I have 1/2" thick glass the magnets that hold the frag racks on aren't so strong anymore. I want to either add another pair to the existing 2 or get stronger. The racks are from CaptainSalty on ebay. I love the racks but now they are falling over. They have the, on their site but they are $7.99 for two of them.

Looks good. I had a Captain salty rack for the last couple of years. I tossed it last night when I found some corrosion on the two wet side magnets. Keep an eye on them when they get older.

I had just ordered a new one about a month ago and they changed there style to these new ones that are coated in that plastic.

the one in the picture is the new style of magnet. I sent them an email asking about them (hoping they would send me new ones for free) and they pointed me in the direction of their website.


Hi Matt,

We haven't had the chance to put them up for sale on eBay yet but they are on our website. However, because of the new design the trade off is that they may repel the older magnets to fit correctly and it is suggested that all the magnets are replaced.

Look at kjmagnets. Plastic coated ones. I've been using thin for over a year and no issues. I use this size;

It looks like it will be cheaper for me to buy them from captain salty and his are coated in acrylic like in the picture.

These have almost 10 lbs of weight/pull. These are encased in plastic not coated.

I just got the KJ mags in the mail. the ones you suggested. think i should dip them in rubber or something to make them more waterproof or should they be fine the way they are?

If these are plastic coated ones ( not epoxy) they should be fine. The plastic is quite thick and I've never seen rust, tested any trace of copper,etc. I rough one side a little and use super glue to attach frag or mount you want.
