Remove Bubble algae ?

I have bubble algae growing on the the bottom of my overflow and not sure how to remove it. I was think turning off all pumps and use a plastic razor blade sliding down and a net underneath to catch the algae. Will that work or is there a better way?

I have some growning on my rocks inside of the tank. The majority of it on one tank. I was thinking of using a screwdriver and pop them all or put a Foxface rabbit fish in there. Stupid emerald crabs seems to be leaving them alone. I have what I wanna consider a HUGE FRICKIN Emerald Crab and hes a noob.

can you remove the overflow? if so do what im doing with the bleach.. but not as long as im doing it for

don't use the net - that will only catch the unpopped ones. You're better off using a siphon to siphon up the ones you pop and scrap off.

It's beatable - you just have to keep at it. I got some from a former vendor on here and everytime I did a water change I would remove the LR and scrape the heck out of it. It no longer has appeared.

Have the siphon running with the end right over the bubble algae and use a stiff tooth brush, this way you catch the spores that are released when you break the bubbles otherwise you will be spreading it further. It took me a couple of weeks but I beat it and it has not come back.

ugh - that sounds bad. For once I would consider an army of emerald crabs. I hate crabs but if I had 200# of rock with bubble algae...i dunno what i'd do. Honestly manual removal would be ideal since crabs have a mind of their own.

Try and train your tangs to eat it. Hold up a rock in the tank and let them eat it off. If you can pull them off without popping them, that works too.
