Mexican Turbo snails eat hair algae usually.

The search is on , I will have to get some mexican turbo snails

Are all turbo's mexicans ?

Tropiquarium usually has the monstrous Mexi Turbos. I think they are 3.99 a piece or something there + 10% off for NJ Reefers members.

Check with them.

I had a wicked outbreak of Hair Algea. I tried everything: Sea Hare, turbos, water changes, new lights..I mean everything. Nothing worked. I stumbled on this.. Fauna Marin Ultra Algea X. Worked like a charm. Now I know I'll hear, "don't put chemicals in your tank" and all that, but this thing was the real deal for me. Nothing was affected in the tank, except of course the Hair Algea. I literally started turning grey and was falling off the rock and never came back. You just have to be careful with it and follow the directions closely.

wow mikem, then maybe he's still in there.... i guess i won't give up hope, maybe he just comes out at night. is the cool looking one with the blue rings on it.. fingers crossed again

I also had the same problem when i upgraded to MH lights. Algae would cover the tank every couple of hours. Now it doesnt seems like its under control all is left is the aftermath. Also have to get some workers in there to clean up guess a trip to the pet store. ;D

I have had my sea hare for 2 years. Sometimes I will see it a few nights in a row and then not for weeks.
Jenn, you could take the rock out and scrub it, rinse, repeat until you're satisfied. Shouldn't kill to much of the live rock. Just have a good cleanup crew to keep it in check.

cool , I didn't know you could get store discounts from being a member as well.
I need to send that check in asap.

The turbos I bought for my reef ( that were said to be turbos ) are pretty small and but they zip around and go really fast on the glass.

I'll look for the mex turbos at trop.
