How do I remove coraline algae from the glass? This is an empty tank. I am using vinegar and using RichT's scraper blade to scrape it off. It come off but takes a long time and some spot are real stubborn.
How big is the tank? I've found RichT's scrapper works best when the tank is full. I've cleaned a few pretty bad tanks by filling them and then ReefGadgeting them. I think you're talking about a pretty big tank though so you may not want to go that route. . .
Soak a paper towel with warm water and vinegar and place it on the stubborn spot for a 2-3 minutes, than try scraping it. When I clean tanks, I usually do it by hand with a razor blade. Doing it by hand will give you better angle positions to scrape the coraline.
