Respect memorial Day

When I was a kid Memorial Day was called Decoration Day and it was a day of remembrance of all the people who died defending the United States and people would go to cemeteries and decorate the graves of our brave hero's who died so that we didn't have to.

Today, sadly, most people think of it as a day off and a sale day to buy stuff cheaper. But I hope many of us remember the true meaning of the day and take a minute off to pay respect to these brave Americans who gave their lives.
I am sure the Patriotic people on these forums remember.

I find it sad that people young and old really don't know the reason for this Holiday..It also make me sick that Companies use this day to make a buck selling their Crap ..We in the UK and other Commonwealth of Nations also have a day to remember the people in WWl and WWll it's called Remembrance Day or to some Poppy Day.. But unlike here we don't have "sales" or try to make a buck on our Holiday of Remembrance of the people who died in those wars

That's correct but money talks and most people today are to young, to liberal or just to involved in their cell phones to care or even know about important things like this.
Memorial Day is for all the Wars America was involved in and we fought all over the world for many nations
