Restarting a 40 pillar reef.

Quick cell shot. Dino free as of now.

Looks good.... I bet it was a long 5 days. I'm at a point where I'm considering doing this and was anxious to see how your corals responded.

Yeah I was also dreading worst case as well. I thought I would unwrap the tank and it would be a cesspool of death.

I did a mix of different suggestions. I did the 5 day darkness(fully wrapped), ran carbon(changed it every day), dosed peroxide the day of the unwrap and since(figure I'll go for 5 days, then maybe weekly), have ran atinic/blues only since unwrap(going for 5 days then slowly ramping back up with the whites) for only 4 hrs a day, doubled the kalk in the TO, and ran my skimmer real wet.

So far so good. Still don't see any dino's.

It is kind of nerve racking the first time you do it. I noticed some of my corals looking a little pale but haven't lost anything as a result of it, knock on wood. I'm sure it confuses the fish a bit. My fingers are crossed that you've gotten them under control.

Thats how I lost one of the fish. When I unwrapped the tank it spooked it and it shot into the skimmer overflow box. (Run away from the light) LOL. O'well, back down to 3 fish again. Maybe I'll try a blenny I can actually see this time.

Mini Update

My YWG disappeared. Pretty disappointing as it was part of my original SW tank.

Recently picked up a harlequin Serpent Star

And the LFS had what was listed as a fairy wrasse for $20 so I jumped on it. So know all I have is a Lawnmower Blenny, Percula Clown, and Wrasse.

Here's a Pic of the wrasse. Anyone know if it is a fairy wrasse or some other type of wrasse.(he ate some Mysis Shrimp shortly after being put in the tank)

sorry for the bad pics, it kept running to the back.

Also Starting to get a little crowded. There's appleberry, bluetip stag, green slimmer, spagoda, purple cap, green cap, green birdsnest, Possible Tricolor, And Red Planet all on this one rock. Can we say trim much. LOL

Also took Pics of 3 different types of sponges I have growing in the tank.

Also wanted to share my tank indicator. This was a little chunk of flesh on a stick that I cut down and just glued to the rock figuring what the h3ll. Figured since this was doing well I could add more. And so I have.

It's Crazy to see how much this little chunk of coral has grown since September.
