Looking at your awesome pics makes me realize that I probably won't be able to resist the call of the SPS for very long in my new tank. I really like that Rocket Pop Hyacinthus.
I broke out the PAR meter today to take some readings, here are my results with two 8 month old 250 watt Phoenix 14K metal halides and two 8 month old ATI Blue Plus 54 watt T5's.
The PO4 is down from 0.65 to 0.13 after one week. I performed a 20 gallon water change, added live sand, new GFO and ROX 0.8 carbon, and made sure my skimmer is cleaned daily. The nitrates are still hovering at 50, until I get them down to 10 or below the lights will stay off so that I do not have another hair algae bloom. I also have three different macroalgaes coming on Tuesday for my refugium.
i really like your tank, the rock work and fish selection are very nice and create a wonderful visual effect... and the corals are ok... j/k...they are extremely nice.. lottsa l/e corals that will help with mainenance costs alot once they need trimming. can't wait to see how this tank developes...
