RO/DI filter question

I have the BRS 6 stage Chloramine system. How do I know when to replace the filter catridges?

The TDS meter shows 9 in and 0 out. I see the color changing resin is half good half bad.

The filter monitor (hmdigital) is blinking red when the water is turned on and the volume is 2800 gallon. Does the filter monitor simply start blinking after certain amount of water pass through it?

Should I change everything at the same time?

For the sediment and carbon block it's recommended to change them every 6 months or so depending on what your source water is like. For the DI you want to change it when the TDS of your product water starts to go up.

I change my sediment & carbon on a schedule (sediment - 6 months, carbon - 12 months) and my DI is replaced whenever I start getting a reading above 0. Depending on how much of the DI has changed color, I may replace just some of all of the resin.

This will depend on the quality of your raw water, and how much water you use. In my case, I have very good raw water ~ 130 TDS, and I make about 150 Gal. a month. I replace my sediment filter about every three month's, the carbon block every six, and I get about a year out of my DI resin. My current unit is a little over 3 years old, and I haven't replaced the membrane yet. The membrane is the workhorse of the system, and the prefilters, i.e. sediment, carbon block, chloramine block, etc. are there to protect the membrane, the DI resin is the last stage, and is there to polish off whatever TDS is remaing after the membrane.

Looks like I am due for a change for the sendiment and carbon blocks. I already have about 3000g going through it and it's about 8 months now.

Thanks everyone.

Almost positive this months group buy includes ro filters and accessories. Just a heads up.
