RO DI setup order?

Hey Guys, so i just received my RODI filters, and resin, and have to put my setup back together... Since i've never put one together, i was wondering what the order for the water to go through was. My guess was

1) RO
2) Purtrex 5 Micron Sediment Filter
3) Matrikx CTO/2 5 Micron Carbon Block
4) Matrikx +1 .6 Micron Carbon Block
5) DI

Is that right? or did i completely butcher the order? Thanks!

No, it's sediment, then carbon, then ro, then DI.

Sediment prevents carbon from clogging, carbon prevents chlorine from killing ro membrane, membrane does the real filtering, DI catches whatever is left over.

i just bought the brs 5stage refill kit, so didn't really get to choose 1 micron or 5 micron... Should be ok.

You're going down the right trail!

The whloe idea of having smaller pre sizes in successive filters is good, but it applies only to sediment filters. If you apply it to carbon blocks the blocks will trap sediment, but that's not what you want them to do. You want carbon blocks free of sediment so they can do the job they were intended for - remove chlorine and other VOC's. So, the pore size on a carbon block should be about the same as or larger than the smallest pore size on any sediment filter.

10 mic sed-> 5 mic sed-> 1 mic sed->0.5 mic carbon is OK
but you could sure do better than 10 mic sed->5 mic carbon->0.5 mic carbon.
