RO DI waste water never stops

I've installed RODI Spectra Pure.
Good water is on float switch.
I noticed that while float switch stops production of 'good' water,
waste water never stops flowing, thus I expect large water bill.
Is that normal ?
Can I install switch to stop 'bad' water ?
Or is it better to stop the line that brings water to RODI ?

Depending on how long you have been running the unit like that you may have to change your pre filter and carbon filter. Water continues to pass through these filters even if it is not going through the ro. If your carbon filter is used up the chlorine will pass through to your ro membrane and ruin it quickly.

You need a new auto shut-off valve. With some of these, you have to match the membrane rate to the valve. My guess, with TB Aquatics group buy going on, is that you could order it from them (along with a couple new filters, like steamman suggests).

You need an automatic shut off valve. Or if you use a float switch with a solenoid valve you can put your solenoid valve on the water inlet side of your rodi. Here is one type http://www.aquariumwaterfilters.com...page=flypage.tpl&product_id=20&category_id=32

I am sure you must be able to get one from one of our sponsors.

How does this auto shut off valve works ? Will it stop incoming water if outgoing stops ?

When the float switch stops the flow of outgoing water, back pressure causes the diaphragm inside the auto shut off to stop the flow of incoming water. When the float switch opens and releases the back pressure on the diaphragm, water production resumes until the float closes and builds up pressure to shut the water off again.
