RO Water Unit

I am not an RO guy but since the amount of rain lately has the local water muddy and full of nitrates I am going to buy one...

So...where can I get the best, local RO unit? I know TB has some good deals, anyone else? Can I pick it up at TB? where are they located?

Also a technical question...should I revert to RO at once or should I ease it up? Maybe mixing RO and tap, will it make a difference? Any imput appreciated.

Thanks! Rod

welcome to NJ! :p

i was using tap for the longest time in ny...but when I came to NJ - I didn't know that every county has like different water sources. So i know some folks here use tap - and others swear by rodi.

From a local perspective - I don't think you could go wrong with TB - you'd have to go to flemington, nj to pick up - pm him and coordinate it. There is no store front.

Personally I use the AWI typhoon 3. I like it.

Anyways - RODI is used because it helps to strip out some of the nutrients in the water that feed the algae. If your tank is fine with the algae situation then it may not be critical to use RODI. Studies have shown xenia to thrive around sewage waste outlets so if you plan on say a xenia (softie) dominated tank - then it becomes less important.

I would certainly encourage you to use a sponsor first. That being said, we've had geat luck with the WaterGeneral 110gpd unit sold on eBay by FilterDirect.
