Rodi water questions phosphates

I dropped one of these in line with my RODI. Easy install and nice to be able to hit a button and see the TDS/ppm in and out of the unit.
Plus it lets you know when its time to start replacing filters.

I got exactly the same one

Yes yes and yes. Come to think of it I have three engineer gobies in my tank
I’ve been planning on getting shifts and stuff my flow should be pretty good i have 2 1100gph wave makers one on each side and mg return pump is shooting 900 gph from the sides aswell i even have sand flowing into dunes due to speed I’ll try getting TDS down, get some sand shifters maybe 2 diamonds gobies 2 engineers some turbo snails

Careful with the diamonds. They're usually pretty sickly at the stores and don't eat well. I had problems.
Here's the deal with engineer gobies they make a HUGE mess, but I love them and my kids love them. Every few weeks when they would make a sand mound somewhere I didn't want I'd just vaccum it out. I repeated this for a few months until they made their piles elsewhere

Haha went through 4 diamonds all too jumping I love them though but no more for me I’d drop like 10 blue legged hermits with some a bunch of shells for them

I watched the whole thing. Couple thoughts. Some of you will have an isssue with one or both. So be it. He is difficult to listen to. He really could use some help getting his presentation down on note cards and following them. Second, almost turned him off with the cat comment. “The cat starves but who cares about cats anyway”. Disgusting comment to make.

Not gonna lie listened to 10 minutes and the guy annoyed the soul out of me haha

the major problem is funding on most of these tanks if you got the right equipment right chemicals right stock you’ll have no issues..

My problem was from day one trying to save a buck and take stupid short cuts which hurt me in the long run which I’m trying to fix now…
Bought a nice 75gallon tank from some scammer on manhattan reefs who told me the tank was completely fine…
Once i got to city it was a fast exchange due to traffic couldn’t stand on the side long blah blah got home noticed the tank was customized they took out the inner over flow made his own drilled holes in the back all with some Europe sized bit… tanks loud as all hell till today…

Problem two is high end equipment thag makes life easy… algae scrubber materials to make 50$? Store cost 500 gtfo… this hobby got so dumb expensive it’s sad i ran a 20 gallon before which was literally flawless… i upgraded to this tank and it’s been hell from day one just don’t have the high end equipment to keep it above issue levels

I mean.. he's not my favorite person for a laundry list of reasons, but who cares ? I still watch his podcast every week. He's got experience his tank looks awesome and I think he's usually right about reef related topics, so I'm all ears.

if I want to learn how to sweat copper pipe I wanna learn from someone who knows how to sweat copper pipe. If I wanna learn how to grow orchids, I wanna learn from someone that knows how to grow orchids. I'm not really too concerned with their opinions on other things, their presentation or their view on cats.

on most days I can not stand the guy that taught me to sweat pipes. Quite frankly I literally can't understand him half the time. on most days he doesn't like me, but he taught me how to do it and it's one of the ways that I feed my family and afford to have a reef tank. Can't argue with a man that taught me how to make $200 in an hour.

if rich and I hung out and discussed anything other then reefing we'd absolutely hate each other. But the man can reef.
Take it or leave it I guess.
