Those thing are a life saver. If your tank ever leaks.
They are also good to hold live rocks.

If I didn't already have these exact two tanks, I'd be snatching them up in a New York minute. As far as storage, I keep mine outside behind my back fence....for the last ten years or so...and that's not an issue. I'm sure you can find a spot to keep them....under a deck, behind a fence, etc.
