Sand Sifting Stars

I have to Sand sifting starfish and the past two weeks one is on top of the other a few times a day. At first I thought the bottom one was dead but it was moving. My wife asked if they were mating and I replied I doubt it.
I came across this and found it interesting; I don't expect any baby ones.

Yes they are safe and are good at cleaning the sand bed.
Usually like most stars they starve to death.
I got both for $20.

Mark's has an established tank for 1 1/2 years. You also can't put them in a new tank. They need live sand that was healthy amt of microfuna it in. This way it doesn't get depleted. You have to feed them food otherwise they will starve. Try mysis shrimp or other frozen foods. I would try to soak it in selcon, zeocon, or similar supplements. Do they actually eat detritus?
