I have this beautiful brain and yellow scroll coral I got from TGEE but they are not looking well the past day or two. I assumed it was from the stray voltage which is now addressed. Any help appreciated. See below for params and pics.

Nitrate - 80, could be i disturbed the sump when replacing the return pump. Will retest tomorrow.
Alk - 7.84
Ph - 8.1
Cal - 440
Ammonia - 0

Did you recently replace the return pump? Today? I'd say that the nitrates are waaaaaay high and Alk could stand to come up a bit. How long ago was the stray voltage adressed? Just in the last day or two?

Jon,
I dedicated it about 2 weeks ago, I just got a chance today and figure out what it was and I replaced the return pump earlier today.
I pulled the two pieces out to check them and it seemed like some red/brown algae was on them. I took a toothbrush an gently scrubbed them. I placed the scroll on the sand
and I added an extra power head. I had one dual PH in the middle and moved it to the side and added another on the other side. I figure more flow should keep the algae off.
Here are before and after pics:

Before - PH in middle:

After - 2 PH, 1 on each side:

*sighs* as I look into the crystal ball I forsee where this thread may be going,as in I seen in the begining of this post "help".But alas, and all joking aside my friend, like Jonathan stated yr alk is low, nitrates are high as usual. Are you doing yr reg water changes? And dont get too crazy with high flow, lps dont like high flow.Have you done any checks for mag levels? If you need a place to hold the corals until you get things in order lemme know.Oh and drop the toothbrush and no one gets hurt...haha hadda sorry..lol jk

How are you testing for nitrates. If your using API. And it is older it might be giving you a false reading go buy a new
nitrate test and retest it
