Smart TV issue

Picked up a Vizio smart TV today. I cannot get it work with my cable box.
Tried allv3 HDMI ports and get "no signal". Tried all trouble shooting I could find online and still won't work.
Anyone have any ideas?

I just want to hit it with a freaking hammer at this point.

May be a stupid question but have you tried a different hdmi cable?

Ok so it might be your cable.
The new tv 4K use a higher grade hdmi cable. So make sure you are not using an old hdmi. Hdmi 2.0 is what you need.
Also on the tv one of the hdmi port will have a label of Arc connect it to that port.

Okay will have to buy one to be sure. I only see HDMI and n o ARC.

When I am reading this I wonder why I don't have this problem. I have a 4k TV. Then I realized I have youtube tv.

Quick background.
The original HDMI cable I was using was not put in correctly on the new TV and when I pulled it out it broke.
I found a spare which did not work either. On a whim I tried to connect my laptop via HDMI and it did not work. I have to assume the spare cable is bad.
Will pickup a new one today and hopefully it will work.

And while you're at it, grab Disney+ and watch the Mandalorian.
Oh, and grab HBO for Watchmen (if you're a fan of the comics).
And grab Netflix for 'The Boys'.
%^$&, just buy all the channels and watch everything.

Have Netflix and Prime, all I need. It came with 2000 app and one is free shows.
