So who's not attending the frag swap?

LOL, it's a madhouse in that forum. Everytime I log on (every 10 minutes), there's 5 new topic posts, lol.

Came in here for a breather, and then going back in again!

My Frag Swap money is running low already. I'm buying stuff that I had never planed to buy. BUT THE DEALS ARE SOOOOOO GOOOOOOOD. I'm trying to save for the raffle tickets. The wife has already warned me..."NO MORE MONEY AFTER THE PAYPAL MONEY IS GONE". I think I have to leave the credit cards home.....

Actually, that price $30 is rather average for these types of functions. If you registered early I beleive it would have been $25. There are amny reasons for the expense; imagine what goes into one of these events.

The monthly meetings are free to attend. That's probably a good place for you to get started.

The admission to this event was 20$ if you signed up early and only 25$ as late as October 1.

These events cost money to put on. Fly in 3 speakers (one from Hawaii), put them up in a hotel, rent a 10,000sqft exhibit hall, buy lunch for each person... it all costs money. Add to that encouraging people to sign up in advance so that you can be better prepared for the total number of attendees and that's pretty much where we are. Thank goodness we're not paying event coordinators and committee people! They're all hard working volunteers that get nothing more than the grateful smiles of the attendees!

The club will likely just break even on the event. And that's all we're looking to do. ;D Hope that helps you to understand!

Yeah and we need to talk about that! I spend more time on this than I do on my PAYING job. The grateful smiles are nice, though!

Oh and apparently at least 350 people don't think it's exorbitant.

It was only $20 a couple months ago. Plus, with lunch included for you and a significant other, not to mention the 4 speakers you can take advantage of, is it really expensive. Lunch for 2 at WaWa would cost $20.

The club will be lucky to break even so maybe a understanding of what goes into putting on a show of this magnitude is in order before making such a statement.

( didn't get to Phyl and John's response before I posted mine. But I think I'll leave my response anyway )
