I mean to me, it seems you're just spit balling with every Qt method out there. The only thing missing from this list is a Freshwater Dip. I don't mean to sound harsh @Kai but I think you should've done some more research 1st before playing mad scientist. I'd be really surprised if any of your fish survive after all that.
- Tank Transfer Method
- Methylene Blue
- a fish kept in a box with Prime
- now talk about copper treatment
I didn't do a complete tank transfer as it was documented above, they switched containers twice because yes, I admit I didn't realize how quickly ammonia would take over. I had done plenty of research on that method and have seen several people who did it the way that I tried. Because several sources did it, one of which being as a part of a research study around the method itself, I didn't question any issue of ammonia.
Humblefish specifically instructed me to do a Methylene Blue dip because of ammonia exposure which I did following his directions exactly.
I have been using prime since the first day when the ammonia started which is why I've asked about if any sort of prime residue if there was one would have any issues with a possible copper treatment in the future.
Yes, they were in a small container for a day and a half. But it was bigger than a shipping bag and they had an airstone. When I realized that mistake I amended it within the hour.
I appreciate the concern over my fish, I am trying to do what's best for them. When I received a sick fish, I didn't continue with my original plans. Just as outlined by Humblefish, when I noticed another problem crop up while doing TTM, I stopped using TTM as instructed and took care of that problem first.
I apologize for being harsh about this, but I came here looking to get help for my fish because I know that things went wrong. I've admitted all of the mistakes I've made with this and I've been following the advice of the experts and others that I trust as much as I can. @ecambero was not the first to suggest that they do a preemptive treatment with copper which is why I am asking about it. I don't see a problem with trying to learn more about the best possible options for my fish when some things haven't worked out.
I cannot change the mistakes I have made in the past, but I can learn from them to do better in the future.
