Hi, I finally took some pics today that I'm actually happy with so I wanted to share them:

I've been struggling to get some decent pics of my tank, this is with a Samsung S7 and a polyp labs macro clip on, no filters. I was thinking of buying a used DSLR but knowing my luck I would spend the $ and still take bad photos :rolleyes: Any advice on equipment is appreciated.

@Rjukan taking pictures of corals, fish, and tanks is an art form. Takes a lot of trial an error. I have read that sometimes the best pictures are when the tank lights are off. Also using a tripod will help steady images. Try not to use auto focus.

Thanks! I appreciate the kind words. Idk about entering in a POTM but at least it's on the right track lol. My reef is coming up on the 1 year mark and I feel like it's just starting to settle in now.

@njtiger24 aquariums thanks for the advice. I have a Panasonic camera that has manual focus and RAW setting that I was going to try and use. You're definitely right in saying it's an art form, there is a lot of trial and error that I just haven't gotten in to yet. I guess I was just looking for an easy way out lol. At least now I can take some quick shots with accurate color representation on my phone.

Absolutely, it's just a fun way to share. I just use my phone too, no fancy equipment here. And if you happen to win, that's just a cherry on top.
