Sort of an easy “Emergency” battery back-up measure if you have a vortech

Haha, don't give that idea to my fiancé! But actually she's supportive. The backup will also run the boiler, refrigerator and oven (igniters), so it makes life good for all. We've had a couple 2-3 hour outages this year, which involved running extension cords through windows, finding plugs, etc. automating that is worth something. And obviously having it do that when no-one is home is even better.

Well, if you're able to run the major appliances off of it too, then I suppose that makes the cost a bit more bearable.
