Wow I love your system, do you have any color issues with your numbers so low? I have two tanks and the "dirtier" tank or one with the not so great numbers seems to have better color.
You also have some great documentation, love it keep it coming
What is the name of that piece that you lost that was your fav that is awesome, did you frag it when you had it that there might be someone with a colony? Gotta have it :)

It really depends on what coral honestly. Some of the harder SPS, seem to like the borderline lower numbers, while the easier SPS seem to do alright with a bit of dirtier water. Have to find the happy medium that works well for the corals you want to keep.

As far my fav SPS, I still have a frag of it, actually completely encrusted onto a plug and doing well in the frag tank at least. I remember getting it from a swap and I think it was a Rainbow Millepora.

So here are my updated shots.. Not easy for me to look at and compare them to what it used to be. Redid some of the rockwork and added some new frags. Thanks to Jim.

Here is a quick update on the tank with some random shots. Things are slowly getting back to normal. Working on getting it all straight again, bit by bit.

Tank is a beauty...must study your basement sump...

Where you dipping prior to the flatworm issue. It must of been heart breaking to deal with...

Were you running twin Duros on the overflow?

I was, but the thing was I hadn't added anything new in a while, which was the odd part. Seemed like I was living with them for a while before it seemed to get so bad that I was screwed. I have an idea where they came from, but still at this point I don't want to think about it.

Heart breaking isn't the word I'd use... I almost got out of the hobby cause it hit me so hard, more emotionally than the tank. In retrospect, I probably could have managed the situation a bit better and probably could have tried to save a few pieces. Hindsight is 20/20 after all lol.

As far as the drain, they are dursos. Also my basement/sump is so unorganized right now, I may just take today and work down there/try to clean up lol.

I read up on your flat worm issue and it said those flatworms only go after sps. Then recommended putting them in a hospital tank situation (easier said than done). I wonder if the worms in the DT would then die off without a food source over time? It's a scary issue for sure. I look forward to your new setup. As one reefer said, rimless tanks are sexy...

As for your basement sump setup, I'm loving it! I hope you don't mind me picking your brain. :) It is what I hope to attain. What pump are you using for the return and what is the head in feet.

Thanks Mark...

Yeah, that seems to be the only real way to eradicate them aside from dips. Take away their food source, and problem solved. They tend to usually ho after acropora, not all sps at least. Mainly why my montis survived.

I am using a reeflo dart for the return, and roughly have 10ft of head room. I do have the pump Teed off in various locations. I should upgrade the pump soon actually.

No worries, if you need any suggestions, let me know. I love build threads lol, have one up?

Tanks are gorgeous! But your stands legs seem a little thin for the weight. Should there be wood between the top and bottom rails. Hate to see you lose a tank.
