Stand build questions- 07735

I have two questions, for now, about building the stand.

I read on several web sites that if its your first stand build you should make it 1 inch longer and wider than the tank. My tank is 48" x 24" so the stand would be 49"x25". Does everyone agree with that logic?

I don't have much in the way of tools. I have a hand saw and a jig saw. So was going to have Lowes or Home Depot cut the wood for me and assemble at home. Good or bad idea?

Thanks
Mark

When I built mine I did the 1" greater thing all around, then trimmed around the bottom of tank.(take a look at me tank thread for a few pics) The only difference would be yours is 12" wider. As far as tools go I used a Chop/Miter saw, Jig saw, sander, and a drill. If you have them cut at the store I would work just make sure to make sure your measurments are good. I don't see why It would not work. Where are you located, I could lend you the saw if you want.
