Stand question

I am picking up a 72g bow front RR tank. I am considering this stand as I don't have time to build one. What does everyone think and how do I cut the top for the plumbing? Holes or a section large enough to see and access from underneath. I would leave a 2 or 3 inch lil so tank sits well.

Cut a section out in case a bulkhead leaks so much easier to fix.

I agree with @Raffle King make sure you cut out ad nice size section for the bulk heads and big enough you can get in there to replace bulk head or anything in the case of an issue.

Are you using a sump or canister? If it is a sump, depending on size you may not be able to fit it through the door.

I agree, cut enough to where you have full access to unions or bulkheads. In this hobby with hard plumbing , clearance is your best friend.

Not what I excpected
I did a lot of research before I made my purchase because I was looking for a solid top stand. The description of this stand and the pictures said/showed that this stand had a solid top. This was not the case. Disappointed! "
When you're ready' I'll stop over and cut the top open for you, big enough for your plumbing and a little extra.

I know it looks the same. My plan is to have the everything setup a few weeks in advance at the new place so I can just transfer the livestock over.

Mike, I read that review and another one where the top was solid. Then called PetCo and customer service told me it was a solid top. So won't know until I get it.

You can cut the whole top off and leave a few inches left on like a euro-brace. That's how mine is.

Thanks Mike. I will call again before I order and see if I can get it the right way, not solid. If not will have to cut it and add more support if needed.

What about through the back?

The one I had received back in Jan was completely covered in the back with exceptions for 3 or 4 round circle cut outs to pass cords/hose through. The only way I could have a sump inside was to build it around it as I assembled it. I didn't want that.
