Sterile vs Live rock in a new tank

Some prefer to start with dry rock and either fish or fishless cycling a new tank, I love the diversity of the ocean and love what live rock adds to my tanks- sometimes the hitchhikers aren't good- maybe bad at times- but for me it's been always on the positive side- nudibanch, brittle stars, snails, corals, pods, For me there is no downside for using live rock- especially from a fellow reefer

I've used Tampa Bay live rock years ago, been toying with the idea of ordering some of their premium live rock. Always tons of life in it.
