Still looking for a generator? Try Lowes.

Lowes are getting shipments of the Briggs & Stratton 5500watt generator ($800). I know there will be a delivery today at the Phillipsburg & Flemington (120 units for Flemington) store. There is a sign up system, so the distribution of the generator will be in an orderly fashion.

If you are still looking for one you might want to check with your local Lowes store to see if they have units coming in. Good luck!

I ordered a generator from Amazon on Thursday morning, but it's still in the "shipping soon" status. I m picking one up at Lowes, just in case.

I went everywhere to find a power inverter. I got a 150w one from office depot.. biggest one I could find, lol. least it'll run my heater

About how long will your tank go with out power?

Not that I need to worry my work let me borrow 2 generators 1 battery back up and I have a inverter so I should be covered

Would like to know 24-48 hours before my tank crashes

the temp shouldn't be too much of a factor unless we're out of power for a long time. Oxygen is i'd be concerned with -especially for tanks with a lot of fish (or a very tall tank with lots of fish)- a small battery powered air pump would do the trick (mind you it creates a lot of salt creep...but better that then dead fish). You might think the skimmer is not needed but our skimmers actually help produce a lot of O2. I would keep it off during a power loss, but find some way to replace the O2 generation (hence the air pump).
