Can anyone suggest some fish for my 56 gallon reef tank. I'm looking to get a couple groups of fish rather than mixing species. I was thinking some green chromis.
I don't think you want to mix a couple of six lines, they can be nasty little things from what I hear. If you are looking for a schooling effect it is a bit difficult with a 56 g as it limits your choices. Doing green chromis or anthias would be nice. Depending if you have an open top tank, fire fish can be kept in groups. One that most people don't talk about is clown fish, they can be kept in groups and generally stick together.
if you want a rather "grouping: rather than schooling, you can try yellowhead jawfish. You can keep them in multiples and they will interact with each other. Just be sure that you provide some small gravel or a section of your tank with small rubble so that they can be happy and build caves (also, crushed coral for this is a bad idea). Just letting you know.
