Strange "mucus like film" collecting on top of my water in my sump

Like the title says... I have had a strange mucus like film collecting on the top of my water in my sump over the past couple of days. I first noticed it when I did my routine two week water change on Sunday. I cleaned it all out and today when I went to add some alkalinity I noticed it beginning to collect again with alot of bubbles on top of it. Does anyone know what this is? My tank is healthy and the coral look good. So I am at a loss for ideas right now.

You need a little more circulation we had the same thing we added a powerhead right where the water just kind of sat. It took away
that stagnet look

I have a Korlia nano powerhead in mine.....works good to keep the water moving

Thanks for the advice. I just put a maxi jet 1200 in my sump. Lets see what happens.

They seem to be dissolved proteins that collect on the surface of the water...i had the same issue until I added my skimmer. also try and break the surface of the water with a power head
