Suction Cups?

Thanks Steve. It's definitely going to be real interesting to see how they get it out. Did they put wood down and then slide it down the stairs to get it down? I wouldn't be as worried if it was the front that needed to be face down. The mover did say that getting it out will be the challenge.

If that plywood isn't glued I wonder if I should even bother cutting a new piece of plywood and foam?

How's the prep for the move going? A few weeks doesn't sound like a whole lot of time to be ready to move out of your house.

They did put a piece of plywood on the steps and then a couple of moving blankets. However, not to get you worried but it is the front that has to go face down because of the external overflow :nevreness: so its going to be real interesting to see how they do it.

I would think that the plywood and foam are in good shape. and as long as they dont mess it up when they move it you should be ok but it might not be a bad idea to have it ready just in case.

Prep for the move really hasnt kicked in yet. We will have the movers do all of the packing with exception of my fish tank stuff. I have been organizing stuff and will be start packing things up the end of this week. We close on the 28th of this month but the buyers are letting us stay in the house until 7/15 so we have a little extra time to get things organized. Right now theres a big scramble to figure out what we are going to buy. The real estate market where we are going is very hot right now and houses are selling faster than mine did.

Door and frame are out. Ive got 33 inches to work with and a little room to spare. The stand measured 33.75 inches minus 1.0 inch for the top. I hope you calibrated your tape measure Steve. :) Ill find out for sure in two days. Come hell or high water that stand will get into my basement!

Well to be honest with you I'm not very good at math and measuring. I usually measure once and then cut 5 times. I was also out of calibration fluid for the tape measure so I just used RODI so we should be ok right????

Well I've found that when my tape measure is out of calibration, a little scotch with a splash of RO/DI water over ice usually brings the calibration right back in place. :topsy_turvy: :very_drunk:

Well it was certainly interesting to watch. :nevreness: The movers successfully got the 650 pound beast out of Steve's basement and into mine. I can't say enough good things about the movers. They really had their act together. Getting the stand into my basement required a little more modification to my doorway but some spackling is much easier than building a stand from scratch. Now the fun of planning and getting this going starts! Thanks again for the great deal on the tank Steve.

Glad it worked out Mike but you know what they say....pictures or it just didnt happen!!!!!

Evidence...

Getting a 1/4 ton of glass up the stairs. It took six of us to make it happen.
