sump baffle has me baffled ¿?

im using a 75RR for a sump on the 220. currently the Skimmer, 2 2" drains are in the first section. Then I have a 10" overflow to keep the skimmer in 10" of water. I then have the Refuge. Now, I did have a Underflow Then a 10" overflow right where the RR Overflow starts. Am i doing something wrong this is what it looked like from many other drawings of peoples sumps.

The problem i am having is the MAG 18 is pulling more water than can come over the last overflow, yet the first one at the skimmer has about 1" of water above the glass.. Should this last overflow be shorter after the refuge?

(The 1st underflow is the one i removed from the last section and is just wedged in there to see if that helped, which it did not)

after my fuge section I have 2 baffles the first is tight to the bottom and the second is raised so I don't get any splash which equals no micro bubbles.

I also have my bubble traps at that end.

ok thank you! what height do you recommend Or would you use if the first overflow is 10"? i can get a piece cut tomorrow

Can you also raise the water level in the sump besides lowering the last baffle?

the only way to raise it is open the ball valve off the pump line which reduces the flow back to the DT. maybe i'll pick up a piece 7"X17" and plumb both sides of the return into the pump.

the 220 has dual overflows.. right now i only have the right side plumbed to the pump because i was going to get a second pump to power the left side. I think that if i use two MAG 18's it will be too much flow

It seams like your not dumping enough water from your tank. Your return is too powerfull and is sending too much water to the tank. Try hooking up both sides before you try anything.

10-4 will do

ok it's going good so far... except... one of the pipes broke loose that i thought i had glued a while ago and I JUST SO HAPPENED to be under the stand next to it and got soaked.

I'm getting changed and cooling off while i wait for Phil !!!!!!!

its a little better, lots of micro bubbles making it that far though which was expected with only two overflows..i think i should move the 10"high to the left a little to keep my refuge at 10" as well, then get a shorter piece to be the next overflow and set the level in the return section.. I put a ball valve on my 2" drain and each got a pipe to go beneath the water level, it is quiet but lotsa bubbles :). also will let me set a level in the DT which I think is my REAL problem.

I had no control over the level in the DT now I need to fill my sump to the level i want it at and get an Auto Topoff to keep it there so i can let everything run. ? What do you think? lol

Do you have a filter sock in the sump on the overflow pipes? That shouls help.

i did but i think i need to go to 100 micron.. i was using a 25 micron and it trapped alot of junk but just to much a PITA to constantly clean.. i can deal with the bubbles if i can get the pump situation straight
