Sunny you have a amazing tank.

Thanks Jose.

It is a purple tang really. I was more worried about adding it to a flock of tangs I already had. I put a mirror in the tank for 12 hours and powder blue, mustard and fowleri just kept busy with themselves :). The Achilles was the only one that gave it a hard time. They sorted out the differences over night and no issues since then..

You around this weekend need to come see that Gem.

LOL. Sure Ed, no worries. LMK.

That was funny, Paul.

Sunny,
I need a bit of advice. I currently have my 4 AI sols 14" above my water level. Tank Measures 48X30X24 and Currently I seem to be getting good colors but I'm not sure how hard I should be driving the LED's. At their peak intensity the white is 40% the Blue is 70% and the Royal Blue is 80%. This runs from 11:00 am to about 6:00pm and then Ramps down to a bluer look with almost no white. So Far I have not killed anything and most things seem to be getting back their color. I'm not sure how long "getting back the color" is supposed to take but I have noticed that my previously REd/REd Planet is displaying more green in the base than red and a lot of green corals are doing ok. Its the other colors that seem to be taking their precious time getting back into gear. I know your AI sols are pretty high over your tank and I was wondering what your lighting schedule was like.

One reefer that Seems to have excellent success with the LED's uses this following schedule

12:00PM to 01:00PM = WH20%, BL50%, RY70%
01:00PM to 09:00PM = WH90%, BL70%, RY100%
09:00PM to 11:00PM = WH20%, BL50%, RY70%
11:00PM to 02:00AM = WH00%, BL00%, RY01% (with moon phase active)

I am glad you took the Gem Tang home, Sunny, she is lovely!

Yeah and I thought I was bad company. You guys are worse :p. J/K. I am glad we spoke about it at the holiday party.

Thanks for the awesome source. I really had a great experience dealing with folks at Elos.

I think at 12 inches high you are doing just fine.

I start at 1% at 8:00 AM. They ramp up to 100% by 12:00 noon. Then they stay at 100% till 7:00 PM. They ramp down to 1% by 11:00 PM.

LMK if you have any more questions.

That is it, no more Chaeto for me

I could never grow chaeto. It always just disintegrated and died on me. It happened again tonight. I come home from work and the tank is cloudy. The water level is low. I go down and there is water all over the floor. I am scratching my head - what happened?

OK so chaeto again broke off and a clump ended up blocking the return outlet. The water flow going up stopped and the sump water level started rising.
It rose enough to over flow the skimmer, fill the bucket I drain the cup into and off the floor.

30G of water lost on floor.

I hate chaeto.
