The build begins with the sump room redo. I need to correct the mistakes that were done 6 years ago.
That said, I can use some muscle on Friday evening to move a couple of tanks out of the sump room. Let me know if someone is up for it.

Beer and Pizza on me. I am looking at 6 PM in the evening. Will need 3 - 4 people.

Glad you came back into the hobby and that will be a beast of a tank.

If I was aquascaping that tank, I would do basically like a pyramid of live rock dead center in the tank which slopes outwards. Leave yourself plenty of room to the glass to add in little island of live rock. I think it would be very natural looking and you could do SPS all around the top sloping downward and any LPS down lower. You can use the mini island to feature different coral. This will also give your fish plenty of room to swim around and your pumps will be able to hit pretty much all the corals. It will allow for 3 or 4 sided viewing and access to almost the whole tank. I would look up some lagoon systems because this dimensions basically sounds like a lagoon tank on steroids (tough to call a 32 inch deep tank a "shallow" tank.

Thanks Mike, that is a great suggestion. I have been pondering about the aquascaping as well. I am thinking to try hmm.. say octoscaping :) New word for the hobby I guess.
Build the back high up like a octopus with openings to look like eyes. Then run down back to front 4 or 5 tentacles if you would? Hard to explain but more like a Davy Jones head in my tank - LOL.

Looking forward to seeing this come together Sunny. That 60 inches front to back depth is going to open up some nice aquascaping options!

All rock that I saved is bleached and air drying now.

Ha! What is the fun of having a tank in basement, Pete :-D. I will never see it. It will replace my 350G in the same room.



Mark I did weigh in and pondered for a looooong time. Finally decided acrylic for that size tank and after my misfortune with glass. It will be 1 inch thick all around and euro braced.
