Switching flow Tunze or Koralia or Seio Thoughts?

I'm looking to upgrade my flow, in my 65 gal. What do you guys suggest 2 Koralia 4's? My current system 150 and maxijet 1200 and one Tunze Turbelle stream 6060, or 2 seio 820 ?

TIA,
Graham

What you have right now isn't bad for the size tank you have. You could add or change to the Koralia's, but I think the improvement would be modest. I'm not a big fan of Seio, mostly because of size and quality issues.

I would go with 2 Koralia 3's for LPS and Softies and 4's if you're doing SPS.

On my 120 4' Tank I have:

On the left side- One K3 and One K2

On the right side - One K3 and One K2

I run the left side for 2 hours and then the right side for 2 hours.. alternating all day.

I have One Koralia 4 that Runs all the time across the back-bottom of the tank.

Hope that is clear and not jumbled.

So.... at any one time I have a K2, K3, K4 running all at once with my returns and flow switches from left to right all day.

I do have some SPS, hopefully more at some point. so one K4 left one K4 right and one k3 on the bottom pushing deitrus into a corner? too much?

so K3's alternating and all the time k3 on the bottom?

I'm confused. What do you have now?

I use a pair of Tunze 6000 stream pumps on their Mullicontroller, but my tank is a 125 gal reef. Also the Tunze stuff is out of sight expensive. I think the current price on that setup is now about $900. That being said, there is nothing that will give you such a random water flow throughout the system.

I have a tunze 6060 on one side of a 55 and it really moves water thru the length of the 48". I'm not sure I'd want a tunze 6060 on one end of a 36" 65 tank. If you put another PH on the other side - the middle would have fantastic turbulent flow - but you couldn't keep a whole lot in the middle without seeing tissue flying...

I guess you could angle the tunze to hit the glass...for me I am not sold it's an ideal set up for a 65 - especially realizing how bulky the 6060 is. Have you considered the nano-streams? I think the size is far better and priced better as well.

If you really want the controller aspect the 6055s can be controlled - but again there is some sticker shock (but a pair would provide 3000 gph).

nothing like this hobby...choices choices choices.

oh and I am not a fan of the seio....it just seems "weak" (flow-wise) and the darn thing occupies enough space to put a tunze skimmer in the tank! lol.

I have and use Seios and i love them. I've never had any issues with them and they produce a tremendous amount of flow in a wide path. I don't have any expeience with Koralias or Tunze. But i think everyone will have an opinion either way. good luck in what ever you do
