I run 2 blue+ for 12 hours and 2blue+, a coral+ and purple+ for 6 hrs.

For a four bulb fixture I would probably go with 3 blue+ and either a coral+ or purple+

Six bulb I run 4 blue+, a coral+ and a purple+.

I change bulbs at about 8 months.

I can tell you what my 8 bulb is, i'd imaging you can pull off a blue plus and the coral plus, and most people would swap the two aqua blue's i have for coral +bulbs. 4 blue +, 1 purple +, 1 coral +, two aquablue specials. This combo gives my tank a brighter look with a lot less blue that my wife likes better. I run two blue plus from 8am to 9pm, all bulbs are on from 9am to 8pm, not needed for that long, more so for my viewing pleasure.

I'm a bot different as I don't bother with the while dawn/dusk thing. When I ran a 4 bulb fixture I used 3 Blue+ and one Coral+. On my DT I use a 8 bulb fixture. I am running ATI bulbs, 6 Blue+ 10am-10pm, and 2 Coral+12pm-8pm. I am currently switching to Guieseman bulbs using the equivalent colors except I'm adding a purple in place of 1 blue. My frag tank is the same mix as DT. On my sons tank I am using a 6 bulb. The mix is 4 Blue+, 2 Coral+. Again same times.

Only cause I was able to get the giesemann locally(hidden reef) in 80w. Been reading good things about them so I figured why not. I'm keeping a close eye though, any signs of color loss and it's back to ATI.

From what I have read they are almost identical in par and quality

Yep and made in the exact same factory along with the aquatic life bulbs. The AL bulbs have less color choice I have seen a few awesome tanks with them as well, including a full blown SPS TOTM on RC a while back.

From the chart it looks like I am picking up a true actinic. Thought they were really low par but it is not. I miss the pop of leds.

So you folks are telling me you will not have white bulb in the combo at all?

Let me know how you like the actinic. Maybe I'll give one a shot
Wasn't in my order because I just saw that chart haha. Going to pick one up soon. The true actinic consists of mostly pur for photosynthesis so it should really help with color and growth.

What he said Sunny. The ATI coral+ is a mix of aquablue special, blue+, and purple+.

I know that. I have one in my fixture. I thought you said 6 blue plus and 2 purple plus? Maybe I read wrong.
