Well I can get a sweet deal if I want to upgrade my 175 M/H to 250 watt M/H and the cost is about half of what I was looking at If I was going to do 2 icecaps retro kit in my 72" hood.
I have a custom maid hood from Champion Lighting. I will replace 3 175 watt E-Ballast for 3 new 250 watt E-ballast. New 4" fan and of course 3 new lamps.
So my 3 175 watt E-ballast will be going up for sale soon.

I can answer this one for James because we have the same light,yes 8 4' bulbs.

I did the 250w M/H upgrade and keep my 72" VHO actinic.
I went with XM 250w 10kbulbs today. They are very bright. They do have very little yellow in color. But with my VHO actinic you can not tell yellow. I do like the look I am getting to my tank now. I will give them a week to break in. I will like to see if my corals will look and do better. Than my 175w M/H old setup.

I might Upgrade my 2 72" VHO with 4 80w T5. I would 2 80W True Actinic 03 T5 and two 80W Fiji Purple T5 HO .
I wonder how that would look?
